Bulk Liquid Control

Bulk liquids can be measured in numerous ways with a wide variety of equipment. Simplistically the measurement is either by dynamic means such as metering or by static measurement as in tank gauging.

Regardless of the system utilised Briar Maritime has the expertise to advise on means of loss control. In many cases following a transfer of product, reconciliation's between measurements are difficult to achieve often resulting in losses for either the supplier or the receiver. Few liquid products are inexpensive thus an apparent loss of several thousand liters is a significant cost.

Briar Maritime can represent your interests as a surveyor at the time of custody transfer or transshipment and provide independent figures. Frequently our clients agree as part of the shipment contract, that all parties will accept our figures, this can and does save a great deal of money in claims, legal services pursuing those claims and also in time for full payment where letters of credit are in use. Whilst Briar Maritime personnel are in attendance for quantity determination it is cost effective for us to oversee aspects of quality control- especially where there are multiple products being handled. We are also able to prepare Bills of Lading on your behalf.

We are also able to make voyage reconciliation's for multiple ports, either through our own surveys or by reconciling data supplied from your own resources.
In addition if shipping fuel or diesel oils we would highly recommend that a bunker survey be carried out in addition to the cargo survey.
