P & I Correspondents
P & I (Protection & Indemnity) Clubs offer the ship owner a
range of services that include but are not limited to claims, loss
prevention and training, personnel injury, collision, damage to
fixed and floating objects and underwriting.
These Clubs are unique in that they are a mutual association whereby
all members bear the risk. A new entrant therefore (be it ship
or ship owner) must meet the exacting requirements of the Club.
Given that these activities are global, the Clubs maintain a network
of "Correspondents" in all ports.
